The check won't cover the repairs. That's a fixable problem.
When contractor bids come in well above the insurer's offer, that gap is not your problem to absorb — it's a sign the loss was underestimated. We build an independent estimate of what the repair actually costs and reopen the claim on that basis.
How claims get underpaid
The carrier's adjuster writes the estimate that sets your payout. They're fast, they've done thousands, and they're measured on keeping payouts down. Missed line items, depreciation that's never recovered, code-upgrade costs left out, and matching issues are all common — and they add up to thousands.
What we do about it
We re-estimate the loss to current local repair costs, identify everything the first estimate left out, and document it. Then we negotiate the difference. You don't need to know the difference between ACV and RCV — that's our job.
Common questions
How do I know if I'm being underpaid?
The clearest signal is contractor bids that come in well above the insurer's offer. If the check won't cover the repair, the estimate is worth a second look — the review is free.
I already cashed the check. Can you still help?
Yes — deposit it. Cashing the check is not accepting the settlement; carriers must pay the undisputed amount of your claim promptly, and that check is simply what they already admit they owe. We keep fighting for the rest. The only exception: "full and final" or release language, which must be disclosed on the check or paperwork — if you see anything like that, send us a photo before you sign or deposit.
Not sure where your claim stands? We'll tell you for free.
Free review, no obligation — and no fee unless we increase your settlement.
